Pool House.

Location: Godalming
Date: 2023

This pool house refurbishment in Bramley came into play because our client had a large pool house in front of their own home, but the two buildings didn’t work well together.

Despite being the first thing a visitor sees when they drive into the property, the pool house looked inferior and was in need of an update.

With a goal of completion by summer, Heronlake got to work on the two-storey pool room and gym/games area.

A new lease of life for a much-loved pool house

While many pool houses get neglected, our client got a lot of use out of this building. It was becoming a little dated, so they wanted to give the design a new lease of life.

Inside, our team took care of everything from new flooring to new windows, shower room and kitchenette, with all the decorating needed to complete the job. This included non-slip porcelain tiles and crittall-style glazing for a contemporary finish.

Externally, we modernised the old timber cladding, added a new decking area, and installed lanterns on the wall for ambience.

Working alongside other contractors

From time to time, it makes sense to work with other specialists to ensure the highest quality is achievable throughout.

Heronlake worked with pool specialists to help close any gaps in our knowledge. Since our client requested that the pool stay full and in operation during the project, this helped us honour that request and saved the expensive process of draining and re-filling.

We also did some work with a structural engineer to ensure the building could handle the weight of the gym equipment and other heavy items on the first floor.

As a team, we enhanced the entire building, giving our client the ideal place to spend their leisure time.
