Woodbury Down was a development project Heronlake embarked on for ourselves, rather than for a client.

We came across a large plot of land with an old bungalow, and the bungalow’s owner obtained permission to split the plot into two and build two new houses. They took the back half and sold the front to Heronlake.

Building constraints breeding creativity

The new construction had to be based on the same specifications as the existing house behind, but we still wanted it to stand out in its own way. We explored a variety of finishes to elevate the property, while adhering to planning requirements and holding onto that classic farmhouse look.

We came across some other restraints and unforeseen costs along the way, for example the property needed some extra piling for its foundations because of its proximity to trees.

Stand-out features of Woodbury Down

The final result was a 4-bed, 3-bath family home, ready to be sold to its new owners.

Heronlake took care of everything, from landscaping to the creation of an oak-framed garage and oak porch. We also added internal paneling, helped design the kitchen and bathrooms, and selected all interior features to fit this modern and spacious home.
